Last weekend I hosted my very first baby shower! Our cousin Amanda is due on May 4th, and as each week passes my excitement grows for them. We’ll be just around 5 months behind them, so my excitement for our little one grows too!
I baked Magnolia’s vanilla cupcakes, which Matt claims are the best cupcakes in the world. I didn’t like the consistency of the frosting so I used this American Buttercream recipe instead. After this handy little tutorial I found on Pinterest, I really enjoyed decorating the cupcakes!
Since the shower was simple, I wanted to add a few handmade touches so I made these little cupcake toppers using 1 x 3″ strips of scrapbook paper and snipping the ends.
Steering away from the traditional shower games, we decorated onsies for the baby girl.

Finally, the ladies took primroses home as favors.

Lauren — what a darling and beautiful and creative shower you gave for Mandi! I sooooo wish I could have been there. We were there just the previous weekend ~ so close yet so far :} You are so dear to give Mandi (& Ella 🙂 such a sweet shower.
